Or do I want the TH30 itself?

In fact, I already did once.

(I've never used the amp past 4). The handle on top keeps you from stacking more lunchboxes on top of it. I wish it had a effect loop like the Dark Terror. The Gear Page is the leading online community and marketplace for guitars, amps, pedals, effects and associated gear.

You've described the differences of these two amps exactly as I had when I played the two within days apart! Supprised it had four preamp tubes and Four power amptubes in since it is so small and low wattage. But you left out my favourite, the Bass Terror 500. I think you can raise and lower the wattage. If you have an account, sign in now to post with your account. It does gain very well, and you can roll off the volume on the guitar to get some cleaner sounds if you need them. The badass high gain version of the Tiny Terror? Just watched a youtube video of a dual terror review. Well, someone had to do it! I need one like a hole in the head, but nevertheless, I can't shake the GAS.

Et il a fait le job. I actually use the Fat channel and the 30 watt setting for my cleans.

Do I want the sexy new Dark Terror? You gotta get an amp head family pic up! 5150. You could switch between the two amps with an A/B box. And, just like it’s high-wattage brethren, the Dark Terror’s Gain control can be rolled right back to reveal a more than capable array of clean, crunch and Blues tones. I love both, but for me overall the Jim Root could give warm and blooming cleans, nail classic brown sound with absolute fullness at any volume, and nail a tight and dry crushing metal tone (with strats even) without over the top saturation mucking up the sound. The videos by ProGuitarShop and GuitarWorld on youtube pretty much cover what it can do. Une bonne tête pour du stoner / métal moderne voir extreme. Another to consider is the AD30 head.

It's only a single TT, but my son's bands' guitar player uses it mic'd for a hardcore metal band.

I can't imagine the Dark Terror having enough clean headroom for some of tones inspired by the artists in your sig. JavaScript is disabled.

It seems like a no brainer, but I can't find any direct comparisons - just people saying you should buy one or the other. I didn't really care for the DT, but I'm not into the heavy stuff. Hey Jimmer I'm glad you're digging it man!   Your previous content has been restored. by ProgRockAbuse » Sat Oct 22, 2011 9:51 am, Post I've been stuck between a rock and a hard place as they say.. Pretty much perfect for me.

Just read a description of the TH30 are more like an AC30 on 'roids than a Marshall.

Well, someone had to do it! I tested the Tiny Terror vs the Dark Terror at the local GC (no dual terror available w/in 100 miles), then bought from on online dealer with better prices. ), It could benefit from a second channel (I was so hoping that was gonna be Orange's big NAMM13 announcement).

Killer tone I’ve been looking for ever since I first played.

I've been buying old Mesa Mark series amps for years in search of the Weezer Blue Album tone. (For future reference, can a mod help with this? Stripped of it's classic Orange covering the Dual Terror promises to lead the way into a bright new future of classic Orange amplifier sound. what were the different wattage settings and is there a headphone jack on the back of it? The Dark Terror I can mic up if needed...though a clean channel and full 30W would be beautiful things, plus it's a full chassis traditional looking Orange head, although almost twice the price. Clear editor. How many pre amp and power amp tubes does each have? All I need nothing I don't. Plenty of gain in that amp for the sounds you are looking for. That sounds like a really cool idea!! I'm looking at an Orange or an O.G. TH30 for the 2nd channel and more watts.

This is the best bass amp on the market. Mmmmmmmmm, blend that!

The TH30 is a more modern voiced Orange its a lil tighter/compressed than some of the oranges, i have played - the clean channel is great, if u want a gain/compression this is probably the amp you are looking for. Thick, heavy gain and a … It's got more bass and more high end to my ears, but is still generally the same. I've got a Dual Terror and I say the 30 watt option is a must have if you want good cleans. Theres a fair few quid between the two any thoughts?

The Tiny Terror and Dark Terror are much more common - the TT in particular can be found for around $300 used. I'm a owner of the Dual Terror, what a great amp. I could use a smaller amp since im not jamming in a band anymore. Wanting to join the rest of our members?

I'd tag the TH30 personally. The Dual is a great amp. Any other recommendations? I'd be surprised if the DT has a wider range of tones than the TT. I have been combing the net for months, and no one has done a decent comparison of these two amps from Orange. I was a solid Mesa player for more than five years, and I spent a more time dialing em in than playing through them.

It seems like a no brainer, but I can't find any direct comparisons - just people saying you should buy one or the other. I'm seriously considering about selling my Rockerverb and with a 3 amp switcher and running my Tiny Terror, Bogner Brixton and a Friedman Pink Taco. I think it would be cool to wire up my 4X12 into two separate 2X12s, running a Terror and my VOX Night Train in stereo.

The clean chime of the VOX mixed with the roar of a Terror would be heavenly. I heard the preamp is way different and the DT isn't nearly as gainy.

Donc, pour une série de jams, j'ai utilisé un Dual Terror, grâcieusement mis à disposition.

Yes, I see plenty of used TTs for sale around Toronto. i've only played the TH30 when i was trying out amp shopping. SHAPE CONTROL.

They are not hybrids are they? To be fair, my 2C+ didn't have EQ, and I think the EQ really matters with that particular amp. The thing is im thinking about trading my 6505 head in for one of the two of these heads and a orange ppc212 cab. It's almost something you just need to hear - the Dark Terror is a bit brighter, and it is more aggressive sounding.

I've had a Mark IIB, Mark IIC+, and Mark III. Does that make a big difference tone wise/volume wise? Although it'll take me longer to pay off, I'm leaning towards TH30. Such awesome amps, and in no way redundant to own both haha! Discussion in 'Gear & Equipment' started by csm84, Jan 29, 2013. so the dual terror has a clean and lead channel and the dark terror has only one channel and that channel would be gain or lead channel? I really need a new amp, I sold my rig a few months ago now and getting sick of using borrowed gear!! I hear its single channel and shape control are modeled off of the TH30? DA15 Dark Terror or TH30 Thunder 30? Do I want the sexy new Dark Terror? The PPC212C is definately worth looking at: It's totally different to a Mesa, soundwise. I have a TT and IMHO it has a limited range of tones when compared to larger amps. Of course getting clean sound on the other channel at the same volume isn't possible then so I used to have 1 channel set up with mostly preamp distortion and the second driving the power amp for a nice crunch that cleaned up with the guitar volume. i love my dual terror, it's a great amp to crank up and use your playing dynamics/guitar to change your sounds and the power scaling means it can be just as good at home as it is in a live/practice situation. by misterfolkertsma » Sat Oct 22, 2011 9:13 am, Post For a better experience, please enable JavaScript in your browser before proceeding. For overdrive I prefer 15 watts for the added saturation, by I still use the amp in 4 tube mode.

Ugh, I'll get another one day most likely haha!! It doesn't do metal, but I love it for my brand of full throttle rock. Post

think recall hearing that the dual terror had a hand in the TH30 design, via the fat channel?

You have certainly piqued my already GASsy interest in a Terror series amp. I like the two cabs in one concept.

Pas de clean, ça sature très vite et c'est très fort (même à 7W, ça arrache !!! Pour le reste c'est pas la peine.

I haven't tried one though so it is just a guess. This intuitive feature can also be found on the Dark Terror’s stadium-filling bigger brother, the 100/50W Dual Dark.

Yeah, it should have plenty of available gain.
