MAX out your credit card trying to buy everything that should in my opinion have come with a MAX bundle at this price. And still decided to buy this.
Simple to use and easy to dial in the exact sound you're looking for or better yet - never imagined. However, playing along to a cool drum pattern is just as good and way more fun. However, I'd just rather buy a bass amp and DI it.

I own a few expensive amps. I am making the most professional sounding music recordings I have ever created with this wonderful software. They sound pretty much like the actual amps (I own a Mesa Boogie) and for musicians that record at home or just want to have a lot of different possibilities, what you get for the price is unbelievable. Being synced to a BPM tempo you can always replace the drums with something more complex later. I like the fact that the actual manufacturers are on-board, such as Marshall, Orange, Wampler, Mesa Boogie, Fender, etc. It remains to be seen how these sounds actually sound in a mix as I am still exploring this program in depth. Learn More. So making your PC emulate a guitar effect wasn’t such a big ask. In the picture here, you’ve got a global EQ and Compressor over the recorder’s main output (and therefore the app), plus you can select your preferred effect for the two Sends. The imported sounds sound like they are playing back on a transistor radio from the 60's so the standalone is worthless. I did open up a ticket with IK Multimedia regarding the issue I had with this program.
Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment. All of your...well mostly all of your favorite amps and cabinets for bass and guitar and not a real usable sound in any of them for a lot of money which you loose because of course with software you can't return it. They also have the brand names and graphics that can really draw in customers. When I tried Amplitube 4, specially the Mesa Boogie add-ons, everything changed. All you need is a good interface like IK Multimedia’s iRig, the software app and you’re good to go. Everything you love about Sweetwater in the palm of your hand. It looks awesome and nicely retro. You can feel the friction of your fingers off the strings through the amp. Honestly that is what the regular price should be. I know ya'll want something to be able to record and play at night. Your head isn’t caught up in too much DAW workflow. I'll give it that. I would not buy this for $50 if I could do it over again. Happy customers, one piece of gear at a time!
Most other Mac DAWs support AU plug-ins. You can get almost any sound you want or variable thereof. All the same, I’m still amazed at how cool the app sounds. You will need that interface and a good pair of headphones, and if you buy one of IK Multimedia’s devices they chuck in a version of Amplitube anyway. I do find myself bypassing the cabinets globally and using 3rd party IR's with a 3rd party loader. Several days later...nothing so don't expect any kind of support.
I read reviews about Amplitube that were positive online so I figured I would give them a shot. Great tones and I wouldn't hesitate to use them on a recording.
In particular, the sampling and “modelling” innovations.
Disappointed with the rest of the B.S. In uselessly hoping for I can get the right tone? The ability to change the actual speakers in the speaker cabinets is awesome, as are the virtual rooms in which the speaker cabs & mics are placed.
Are you seeing a pattern here? It's a fun piece of software. To learn more about our cookie policy, please check our Privacy Policy. It had presets that flirted with all kinds of copyright issues with names like “Just Like Jimi” or “David’s Pink Delay” and figuring these out wasn’t difficult…. A Sweetwater Sales Engineer will get back to you shortly. The one on the software does NOT sound like the real life one at all. I have been wanting the Amplitube MAX bundle for awhile now and was lucky enough to get it on sale and WOW!
I feel used! Wind forward to today and the Amplitube app uses the same concept. This is minimal for most guitar rigs and I like it that way. To learn more about software compatibility, check out our buying guide. In real life you have to crank the bassman past 5-7 and its still not like this crap. You’ll find quite a few guitar amplifier apps available now, but maybe because Amplitube was one of the first is why I reckon it’s one of the best. The sounds and all the fiddling around you can do with mics and cabinets rooms and speakers is cool but at the end of the day none of these sounds sound great in a mix tweak as you might. A lot of novice players start believing that more effects, more pedals and processing will achieve that elusive “sound”.
There are hundreds of presets to get one going towards finding a sound you might need, or you can just start from scratch and build YOUR TONE to your own specifications. Get Directions | I hoped that this would do its job and make my guitar sound like to does in my amp. For years and years I have balanced the love of a "real amp" with the realities of city living (apartments, kids, etc.) Again, the effects are wonderfully old-school, like something out of an analogue recording studio – a much sought-after sound these days – and you avoid messing around with a zillion presets. If you're using Pro Tools, AAX plug-ins (or RTAS for older versions) are what you need. On the basic Amplitube app, all premium functions are greyed out and tapping on these prompts a pop-up dialogue box from the IK Multimedia store and the opportunity to buy it. These sound all sound like they are in a well to me. You might fare better in a DAW you say.
Not that the cabs are bad, just not my taste. The MAX bundle is a no-brainer. Sweetwater Sound As a Bass player I was impressed with the SVT sound I got. Some of the sounds are so close to the original it is difficult to tell them apart. I have been home recording for 35 years. So I like the fact that Amplitube restricts you to just four on-screen and forces you get the most out of these. From the straightforward Noise Filter to the T-Rex Moller, they’re just like the real thing. I went through IK Multimedia's dysfunctional installer and I say dysfunctional because it is unnecessarily overthought and has a tendency to want to update itself while you are using it. Love this app! Thank you for your request. I have a fender 59 fender bassman reissue. The price for Amplitube Max is actually pretty good when you consider all the licensing and so … I loved T-Racks. AmpliTube MAX has so much range and great sounds! The controls are rotary knobs, the meters are VU, and you only get two Sends for master FX. This is like being in the control room and hearing your rig properly mic'ed up. Really thickens them up… Great stuff and people there.
I haven't even begun to sample the options but a few tracks I have laid down so far I'm blown away. You'd think with the word MAX in the title it would come with everything but it doesn't There are plenty of things in the presets that will tell you that you don't have that so MAX what? 5501 U.S. Hwy 30 W, Fort Wayne, IN 46818 Really, it’s all about learning how to set up the pedals you have before bothering about getting more.
The miscellaneous presets are awesome and the possibilities are endless with the foot pedals, inserts, full rigs, etc. I have my guitar going into a focusrite scarlett 2i2. The virtual eight-track tape machine is wonderfully old-school. I bought this program on sale. Amplitube free is impressive on its own. It does however work fine with my cheapy Behringer audio interface so go figure. I could go on and on. Of course, the reels turn when you’re playing or recording! It can make you play better and that’s what you want, right? Like its a separate signal washing in the background or layered over it depending what pedal it is. I am just going to mic my amp like normal and keep the volume as low as I can. Small tweaks of the tones, the gain and volume controls, the reverb levels… these are all accurately represented and can teach you that small adjustments will make a big difference. The bassman Im referring to. All right, don’t shout at me — I know that Amplitube’s virtual amps are nothing like having a real, monster Marshall stack in the corner of your room. They sound good, look awesome in all their original design splendour and once again will teach you something valuable — the fine art of setting up your effects pedals. Instead, it’s kind of liberating that you need to listen to the other tracks for your cues. In a weird way they dont actually affect the guitar signal, but it kind of layers itself with it if that makes sense. All in all it's a good package, I bought the max bundle because it includes 90% of the name brand stuff (although Amplitube has emulations of some cool Marshall heads that come in the 4 package, without the Marshall branding on them). Oh, and the pedals sound god awful too. What a racket. Of course, there are plenty of in-app extras you can buy. Drag-and-drop each one to rearrange the order.
