bias fx vs guitar rig
Recabinet is getting ready to release 4.1 soon which will also introduce a ton more amps and a less shitty UI. This is a forum where guitarists, from novice to experienced, can explore the world of guitar through a variety of media and discussion. Posted by. Im not into huge amount of gain generally speaking, something Amplitube seems to doa lot of. Wouldn't the lag be taken care of with a better interface or is it the software itself that's slow?

Ya. I like S-Gear and TH 3, but with the amp matching technology I may have to try Bias Amp Pro; I'm definitely going to look into it on you tube and see how well that works.

I have been using the GR5 demo alongside the LePou amps for a while and it worked fine but I am impressed with the features BIAS has. Can't decide which one I like best. I've seen similar complaints from other users. 4 years ago. Bias sounds and responds the most like a real amp, in my opinion. Sorry, your blog cannot share posts by email. I haven't used Bias, been reading a lot about it and was considering buying it. I agree that BIAS does a good job imitating real amps and cabs. That's mainly how Scuffham sounds so good, it has great IRs included and good reverb with only a mediocre amp sim. If you're not using PC/Mac though, and chasing a portable (iPad) option then Bias would be my pick as the tablet version is really good. I have an old Tascam USMkII and it kind of sucks, so any suggestions on here? The Bias FX, and FX Pro especially, really look nice, lot of goodies. Bias FX is the only one I have experience with, but I highly recommend it. For an interface, there are some really good ones that don't cost a fortune - if its for a single guitar and nothing else, then iRigHD or Apogee Jam are good with either tablets or laptops and sound really good. Only $39 bucks too, I was super close to buying it years ago when S-Gear 2 came out and invested in that instead. BIAS FX is the world’s first cross-platform guitar effects processor. It sounds really good. I tried Bias but never really took too it but I think ill give it another look again. I would advise to try the demo first and see how it does. for effects of course BIAS doesn't have them, yet. If you have guitar related questions, use the "Search" field or ask the community. I have a decent effects rig that I use for playing live and practicing, but if I'm writing and recording original material the ability to change my tone after tracking is so useful. Hardware DRM is the lamest shit ever and hope everyone who decides to implement it loses their ability to hear and enjoy music, Also, if they released their shit for cheap, EVERYONE would buy it, there would be less overhead for having to support hardware, wouldnt have to deal with warranty shit, no shipping, and myriad other benefits. I just started using Bias Professional after having used GR5 for a while, and I'm starting to like Bias more. I found the below video which gives a demonstration of five of the most popular amp simulators.

I personally use Bias, but a lot of people swear by Peavey ReValver. Check out this Guitar Rig 5 demo on youtube.

Les Paul/AC15.

IDK if they abandoned it. Bias sounds a bit samey and had a higher latency on desktop in comparison to Amplitube and LePous IMO. So this question has probably been asked before but Bias FX, Guitar Rig 5, or Amplitube 4? Tried Amplitube, Bias, LePou, Pod Farm, etc. Change ), You are commenting using your Google account. Initially I was underwhelmed by Amplitube, just took a while till I got some self made presets that I like - generally speaking the built in or downloaded presets just didnt suit me.

Didn't like guitar rug 5 at all. Check out this Guitar Rig 5 demo on youtube. Thanks for the response, I took a look at Amplitube 4 but I thought it was lacking in effects and I'm not really looking for the most precise amp sound (mic placement, speakers etc) since I wouldn't really know how to achieve it. Despite having 0 experience with any of the physical high-end sims (Kemper/AxeFX/Helix), Guitar Rig 5 was the one that first made me think that software COULD be on par with the real deal. That's why I like Bias so much for recording. But... that one feature that Guitar Rig has that I can't believe Bias FX does not have is a looper pedal.

Some of them experience glitches etc. Cookies help us deliver our Services.

Personally I use bias (I have bias amp and bias fx) and I am quite happy. Joined: Sep 15, 2004. It's been quite a while since I played with the demo of Kuassa Vermillion but I remember it having a very nice Fender vibe to it.

New Guitar Match: One of the coolest, most talked about new features in BIAS FX 2 is the brand new Guitar Match.

Thanks for visiting. DigiPOV, Sep 27, 2017 #13. toneninja, mbenigni and dickjonesify like this. JavaScript is disabled.

Guitar Rig 5.

I recorded my last EP with GR5 but currently I'm trying to pry some good tones out of my Line 6 Pod X3. Between those three, Amplitube 4 of course. ( Log Out /  I hope you find it helpful in your journey in finding the perfect tone. 5. Amplitube 4 does decent cleans, but you need to know the program to be able to achieve'em. 13. If you are looking for the best tone, Bias FX is the clear winner. In my opinion, there are a lot of great options out there. Give the Super Reverb from the Fender 2 Collection a whirl in Amplitube Custom Shop. Close. Now we need a GR5 VS A4 VS BIAS VS Sgear thread. Messing with Amplitube I wasn't sure I'd be happy with it and it was kind of pricey if memory servers, so I started looking at other modelling suites. I use it with IRs because the built in cabinet sim lacks options in terms of different mics and multiple mics. Personally, I tend to gravitate towards Positive Grid’s Bias Amp and Bias FX. 2i2 model might be sufficient for you, I went for the 6i6 as it has enough inputs that i can run in some of my own pedals and there is VERY little latency as long as your computer can handle the software side of things.

They had a PRO release a couple years ago.

Both have free to try demos. I practice to a looper almost every day. I'm looking mostly for effects and ease of use. With Bias FX 2, the gap is much closer. I have similar specs, so I guess I'll try the demo first. You must log in or register to reply here. Change ), You are commenting using your Facebook account. I still love Guitar Rig 5 for its added features, but everything that Bias does it does quite well which makes it a practical and exceptional plugin for recording electric guitar and just jamming. I got this in Komplete Ultimate, don't know if it is worth the standalone price.

I also started with LePous plugins and tried guitar rig after that but Bias is my favourite. Messages: 4,084. ( Log Out /  I have gotten many messages asking me about amp simulators. Bias Professional vs. I would not hold my breath for any major upgrades. DigiPOV, Sep 27, 2017. S-Gear Wayfayrer would be my other suggestion. Which do you think nails it when it comes to getting the Most authentic fenderish Cleans and light Crunchy overdriven fenderesque tones ? As always, the key to realism is how you set the cabs up. Check out Recabinet and S-Gear. Try scuffham s-gear 2. There are two features this program is lacking: the "Bright" switch on the Fender-like models and the possibility of use third-party IRs. ( Log Out /

I had useable tones in less than 5 minutes with both--which has never been the case with any other amp sim. I hadn't even heard of the Peavey one I'll take a look at it! It allows you to build virtual pedalboards, import BIAS Amp Match profiles into dual signal path, share and download presets on ToneCloud, and record + re-amp with a state-of-the-art guitar amp and effects for your studio. Elric Supporting Member. My biggest gripe with BIAS is that the volume and gain staging in the plugin is weird. Some of the custom tones i've downloaded have either been super clipping or just too dark and roomy sounding. Fuck paying 25000000 dollares for Axe-FX, Helix, or Kemper. Archived [QUESTION] BIAS FX, Amplitube 4, and Guitar Rig 5.

I know how to make it do what I want, I guess. I use Amplitube 4 here. ( Log Out /  Press J to jump to the feed. And I'm not really a fan of the custom shop thing. I'm doing some amateur recording and decided I would buy one of the above.

But I also find the interface very slow (i5-4460 & 8gb RAM). It helps with improvising, timing, and song construction. I just started using Bias Professional after having used GR5 for a while, and I'm starting to like Bias more.

So this question has probably been asked before but Bias FX, Guitar Rig 5, or Amplitube 4? There is a Knopplfer riff in there. steam game sales are a great example of this business model and they are SWIMMING in money, New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast, More posts from the WeAreTheMusicMakers community, Continue browsing in r/WeAreTheMusicMakers, Press J to jump to the feed. It always sounds brittle and compressed. The best place to start if you're new is right below in our "Rules" section. Still, Bias never wins when I compare it side-by-side with anything. By far the best amp sims I have used. I would pick something else but if the selection is only of those three i would prefer Amplitube 4.

I've used the 3 of them. My advice would be that you should try out the 3 you listed and and also peavy revalver (I think they all have demo versions) and then decide. On another note, since I will be using it as an amp modeler for playing as well, I'm looking to upgrade my interface. I've used Guitar Rig 5 for years.

I'm loving BIAS Fx and Bias can slo act as a stand-a-lone if you're ever just trying to tinker around and don't want to have your DAW open.

I think it sounds great. In Bias FX 1, I'd dial up a patch that sounded ok to my ears, only to have it immediately embarrassed by comparisons to S-Gear, ReValver, or Helix.

Amplitube is certainly easy to use, hard to imagine a simpler system - it gives you an effects chain as you would expect in the real world tuner>effect chain>amp>cabinet>racks. I was brought into all this amp modelling stuff after buying a Fender Mustang V head which came with a copy (I think it's lite) of Amplitube. S-Gear Wayfayrer would be my other suggestion. Lots of suggestions on software so will skim over but personally Amplitude 4 Deluxe is good and would try the free version first as you can demo gear with it too (I got it included with Irig HD purchase - a steal - , so not sure if I would pay full value!). It's a shame they have pretty much abandoned GR. View homestudioconnection’s profile on Instagram. [QUESTION] BIAS FX, Amplitube 4, and Guitar Rig 5. i think it's worth the asking price. PositiveGrid really got it right with this plugin; it has so many parameters to create amazing sounding tones and a really cool UI. I personally switch between Bias and Peavey Revalver. Welcome to r/guitar, a community devoted to the exchange of guitar related information and entertainment.

any other tool better than the listed ones ? The Gear Page is the leading online community and marketplace for guitars, amps, pedals, effects and associated gear. So far I'm enjoying the plug-in route more because I don't have to be married to tones and once I record out my Pod I'm stuck with whatever I recorded.

Bias works best for me. New Guitar Match: One of the coolest, most talked about new features in BIAS FX 2 is the brand new Guitar Match. It analyzes your guitar's overall response and transforms it into any of our 18 hand-picked legendary axes with a multitude of different body shapes, tone woods, and pickup configurations - no special pickup required. It took a little while to get sounds I wanted, but once I did it sounded really great.
