That is a function of gain and the guitar, almost any amp can be MADE to feedback.

It will suit guitarists looking for an amp that excels in it’s gain tone. I just bought a DSL5CR and plan to use it a lot with headphones in my apartment (Audio Technica 50x headphones). The emulated output sounds terrible with headphones. 6-8 months in with the DSL and I still really like it. I reckon you got a lemon. Here is a sound demo of the 2018 Marshall DSL1CR and DSL5CR combo amps. It is amazing amp for what it is. It looks like you're new here.

The Five was still remarkably quiet even at full gain (wish I had one here to test!)

Sounds good dirty I don't like the ISF feature at all and found the DSL sounded more beefy and more like what I wanted. A NOISE GATE for an HT-5 Motorhate?!!! It was just made because the 5c needed more features. No, still don't get it mate!

Did not realize Marshall were using the 12BH7? With a 10” Celestion Ten-30 speaker, perfectly chosen for great sound at low levels, this 5W amp provides you with the chance to experiment in your own home or at rehearsals.

I say have a look at the ht5r. Ihr könnt die Produkte gerne woanders kaufen. Whether the sound is to YOUR taste is of course in the lap of the dogs. It gives you same features but with reverb a deep switch and the gain control on the volume . 6-8 months in with the DSL and I still really like it.

I went in to buy an HT5R and ended up choosing the DSL5.

So Marshall did just that.

What's the emulated headphone out like on the htr5. Basically, I much preferred the Marshall but I don't seem to quite "get on" with the Blackstar amps I've tried. I tried one of those Marshall 5 amps and hated it but then I don't much like Marshalls so my opinion counts for absolutely nothing.

The clean can be amazing and if you work it right.

Cheeky bastds! Reverb is digital but I have never read a bad word about it. Also has reverb. It's in the top 3 bestselling guitar combo amplifiers and has dozens of popular alternatives in the same price range, such as VOX AC30C2 or Boss ACS Live. I just bought the DSL5CR. DSL5.

It is an upgraded 5c. Yes, I had this exact same quandary back in the summer. The compact size means it is very portable, but doesn’t mean it isn’t loud. I've seen other posts on this. If so, why did you choose the one you did? It will suit guitarists looking for an amp that excels in it’s gain tone. If I were you, I'd get the DSL1C for home use, or get the DSL5C and a reverb pedal (the MXR Reverb is a great, high-quality solution), since the DSL5C doesn't have reverb built in, but my guess would be that even the DSL5C is more amp than you will need. I heard that in general the small tube amps lack the processors for a decent emulated out, so they sound like poo through headphones.

I tried 5 watters from Marshall and found the class 5 sounds crap and the 10 inch spkr in the dsl5c was crap too.

Here is a sound demo of the 2018 Marshall DSL1CR and DSL5CR combo amps. Marshall DSL5CR.

The Marshall DSL5C amp is a cheap way to access Marshall tube power in a no-frills, traditional way. Started to feedback pretty quickly while trying to compete with the rest of the band and just didn't do anything for me. I've just sold my HT-5 head. I don't like the ISF feature at all and found the DSL sounded more beefy and more like what I wanted.

I also don't really understand the feedback issue? This video compares some good tones between the NEW Marshall DSL 5CR and the tried and true HT5R from Blackstar. I would narrow it down to the DSL5C or DSL1C, try both of them, and pick the one you like. Marshall DSL5C vs Marshall DSL5CR.

The Marshall DSL5C amp is a cheap way to access Marshall tube power in a no-frills, traditional way. The Five is probably THE quietest guitar amplifier on the planet.

If you're using it on high-gain and in a rehearsal situation (or even small gig) then a noise gate is essential and for live, mic'ing up is essential IMO.

I have a ht5r head which I use with a zilla cab and for home use its great. Has anyone out there chosen between these two amps? Basically, I much preferred the Marshall but I don't seem to quite "get on" with the Blackstar amps I've tried. Marshall DSL5CR is $350 more expensive than …

If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons! The volume is really low and quality sounds really bad.

The compact size means it is very portable, but doesn’t mean it isn’t loud.

Anyone got a view?

The EM out on the Five (and everything except Core AFAIK) is completely annyloggy filters  and has a 1x12 and 4x12 option IIRC?
