(from Werner, Feb 2013), today we have small grounds, smooth fast outfields, helmets, body padding, bats with big sweet spots, covered pitches, sounds like a batsmens paradise to me so while sachin is very good and consistent i cant see why on these good pitches he has made relatvely few big scores, lara is the better bat in my opinion during this era, who in a side with good bowling may have won many games with the number of big scores he made under pressure, bradman however different era, rough uncovered pitches, rough slow outfields on bigger grounds, tinny bats with little to no sweetspot,no helmets, no body pading, sounds like a bowlers paradise to me, i think even lara and tendulkar would admit they have it easy with regard to cricket condintions, afterall today easier conditions have more than likely helped allow modern players to play so many games angainst so many different players, bradman has to be number one, the conditions today simply dont allow enough adversity to produce a player so far above the other players of their time (from greggy, Jan 2013), Oh god, what a fake list it is ...
