Sometimes much easier than starting from scratch. If you're not using PC/Mac though, and chasing a portable (iPad) option then Bias would be my pick as the tablet version is really good. Conversely, Amplitube put a ridiculous amount of effort into their Ampeg pack and they're the best bass amp sims you can get, no contest. I own both pro editions for PC and I have to say that Amplitube, especially the Ampeg pack (which I'm not positive you can get for iPad, so maybe check that), totally shits all over Bias FX when it comes to the bass models.

Am I just not messing with the bias amp settings properly? 2) Amplitube 4 3) Bias FX I love them all, but it seems that it is more simple to configure TH3 (if compared with the other) to be used with an external MIDI controller, but I could be wrong.
Either ice picky or just an overall hyper compressed "digital" sound on anything past 'dad-rock' levels of gain. Bias sounds a bit samey and had a higher latency on desktop in comparison to Amplitube and LePous IMO. @hacked_to_pieces said: So the overall sound (Tone) will vary from player to player.
