The waiter picked up on our quest to try interesting wines and offered many small tastings - none of which were asked for - but ones he thought we might like to try (and we did!). The menu was the same as the night before and we would've love to see something different. Exceptionally competent service. The outdoor space is lovely. Food and service are great and the drinks were also top notch. Loved the chocolate beet cake, perfect flavor, very light on the sweet.

I have been to many fine restaurants and they usually tell us if there is "hot" dish that sells out fast so we know to preorder it. Wine and beer we ordered was delicious but we won't be back. A slinky dress … It might be worthwhile to give it another try. Due to local restrictions, this restaurant may not be accepting reservations at the moment. The hostess came back saying our table wouldn’t be ready for a bit longer and asked if we preferred to sit at the bar for our meal or wait on our table. The food was superb.

We can’t wait to back!! It took us 1 1/2 hours to get our dinner, 1 hour for our app...other tables that came after us, were served and left while we were still waiting for our food. The food was inventive and tasty. Truly an outstanding experience. Must make it at home n Michigan. The service was great, and the ambience was charming. The skillet cornbread appetizer is awesome. I suspect Covid has been challenging as the food was mediocre at best. The fish again had beautiful simple ingredients, but was over powered by the addition of asian spices.

The starter was very good(a sample of hams)' both my wife and myself found the main course taste very salty, if this was caused by too much salt or too much spices we cannot tell. But instead, the skin was still moist and white. My only complaint is that they don’t have one in Ft Worth. Please try another date or time. Superb tastes in multiple items. Whatever is fresh that day is what gets on the menu and on the plate!We've been many times and we've never been disappointed! The food was amazing, started with the Skillet Cornbread and Cornbread Panzanella, both excellent! Do you have to have a reservation? A $500 dinner tab, and they charged us for those drinks too! Excellent takes on straight forward American food, with an extreme, almost fanatical (but nonetheless welcome) devotion to local food. Probably the best seafood dinner we had while in Charleston. I was frustrated that our table was not ready by the time of our reservation and we were not able to sit in one of the main dining rooms. A magnanimous evening! Service was excellent and the drinks and wine were superb.
