Azeite Quente: Pode?

Thinking about the health of our consumers and bursting a few olive oil myths, we now have a major exclusive partner on our side: the Brazilian Association of Nutrology — ABRAN.

ABRAN director Dr. Carlos Alberto Nogueira de Almeida will present studies that deny the harmful effects of olive oil and point out its beneficial properties. Here you will find interesting facts, valuable advice for your well-being and exclusive articles about the healthiest oil in the world. Shall we start by bursting a myth?

Is hot oil bad for your health? No, it is not!

Dr. Carlos Alberto Nogueira de Almeida, a specialist physician at the Brazilian Association of Nutrology — ABRAN — explains why.

Even after heating olive oil for domestic use, it does not undergo significant changes in its natural properties, as they inhibit the formation of toxic products, that is, there is no formation of trans or saturated fat.

As long as it is heated to the recommended temperatures, it can keep 80% of its antioxidant substances active, debunking any myths about hot olive oil, Dr. Carlos says.
